EDCS History

 

EDCS was founded in 1978 with 11 students.

Each of the next four years,
enrollment doubled.

EDCS was chartered with the state of Ohio in 1983.

Lebron James of the Cleveland Cavaliers
in the NBA played in the EDCS gym
as a Junior High student
when his team narrowly defeated EDCS
for the "state championship".

The Power Team
performed at EDCS
in 2005 and again in 2006.

In the 2008-2009 school year, 9th grade
was added for first time.

Mr. Norman Hartman, founder
was presented a "key to the city"
by Mayor Johnnie Doan of Riverside, OH
in a public presentation
on 11.07.08.
It was only the 2nd time in history
that a "key to the city"
had been presented
to a citizen by Riverside.
